Coracle is a Cambridge based technology company that believes in removing isolation from learning through technical innovation meaning, no-one should be isolated from digital learning opportunities. 

Creating a product and services to be utilised in some of the most challenging, technical landscapes, has allowed Coracle to facilitate isolated users in improving their digital literacy and life chances. 

Formed within the maritime industry where the product supports an active user base, their secure and effective platform also enables prisoners to use laptops for independent study. The system is already used in more than three quarters of prisons in England and Wales.

Established in 2006, Coracle has grown without the need for external investment and continues to grow and deliver upon their mission. Receiving one of only eight, Kings Award for Promoting Opportunity 2023 is further evidence of Coracle’s drive for sustainable change.

Technology has been excluded from prisons for too long. Thanks to the creativity and innovation of our team, we have been able to reimagine education-based technology and put digital learning in the hands of prisoners.
